Babel Film Workshop is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of all students enrolled in its programs. In addition to following the relevant guidance and laws protecting children in Hong Kong and worldwide, Babel Film Workshop proactively fosters a healthy, positive, and creative learning environment for students. All teachers and guests must follow a code of conduct which includes the following:
- Use of appropriate language and addressing use of any adult language within the context of a film curriculum in a mature way.
- Respect of students' physical space and personal boundaries.
- Awareness of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs represented in the classroom.
- Alertness of any perceived threats to students' wellbeing whether inside or outside of the classroom.
- Openness to communication in an honest and respectful manner.
- Sensitivity to students' privacy and confidentiality of personal information.
Teachers also must not:
- Physically, emotionally, or sexually abuse students in any way.
- Engage in activity that is illegal or inappropriate in a professional context.
- Discriminate against others in relation to gender, religion, race, nationality, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability, or age.
- Share confidential information about students with anybody unless a threat is perceived.
